A fast, plain-HTML website for the Cook Islands’ national athletics body, with a portal the team uses themselves, a results system, and every finish line photo from Round Raro 2026.
The problem
The old site ran on a platform whose backend could not come with it. The Selection Policy download was broken for everyone, the site had no favicon or share image, and every page told Google the real address was a different domain.
The 21 athlete profiles were written into the site’s code rather than stored anywhere the team could edit, and registration went off to a separate form.
What we built
- A plain HTML and CSS site where every page works even with JavaScript switched off.
- An admin portal so the team can post news and update athlete profiles themselves.
- A results system: import a meet file, match athletes, flag anything that beats a national record for a person to ratify, and draft the news story.
- Online Join ACI registration with consent and guardian checks for under-18s.
- A searchable national records page, and structured data on every page so search engines understand the athletes, events and news.
- A gallery of 204 photos across 19 albums, and a Round Raro 2026 page with every finish line photo in finishing order and a download button.
